American Idol Gives Back
This week’s American Idol episode featured a theme of giving back to the community. The show will donate money to help people experiencing poverty in the U.S. as well as Africa.
The six finalists sang “life anthem” songs. My favorite song - not necessarily favorite performance - out of all the songs was Blake’s remake of John Lennon’s “Imagine”…
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one
I would have to say that this song is probably my life anthem….Being the idealist that I am, it’s easy for me to believe that anything is possible. Just imagine!
Anyways, Last One Waiting breaks down the latest American Idol episode. Melinda
Doolittle is still my pick, but I have to say that Jordin came very strong tonight.
