Using BlogTalk Radio To Market Your Music

Posted in Resources by NoSongUnsung on the October 18th, 2008

Looking for a free way to market your music online?

I am constantly amazed by all the technology that we have at our fingertips - literally.  The amount of people that are logging onto the internet on a daily basis is in the millions, if not billions, and there are so many resources out there that can help musicians get the word out about their music.

Listen to Studio 747 Radio on internet talk radioAs you may or may not know, I have a talk show over at BlogTalk Radio which is part of the Studio 747 network.  My first guest was Rob Cooke who is a musician and online entrepreneur.  Read more about the show in this past post.

Well, the other day I spent most of the day listening to different shows over at BlogTalk Radio and noticed that there were quite a few music-related shows being hosted there.  Click here to see the list of music shows at BlogTalk Radio.

A light bulb came on in my head…What if No Song Unsung had a music show that played music from independent bands and musicians?  Perhaps this could be something that could be done in the future (I have so much on my plate at the moment!) But it’s definitely something for you to think about if you want to get more exposure as an artist.  What better way than BlogTalk Radio?  It’s absolutely free to start your own show!  Seriously, it can’t get any better than that!

I love the internet!

Recommended Music Blog: What Does This Song Mean To Me

What Does This Song Mean To Me Blog HeaderMany music blogs talk about the latest happenings going on in the music world - which is fine - but sometimes you just want to read something different.  Today I came across What Does This Song Mean To Me, a blog that talks about music from a personal perspective.

Here’s what Kelly, the blogger behind What Does This Song Means To Me says about music:

“What I find interesting is how a song’s meaning can evolve as you grow
older. Life experiences can shape how you listen to a song. Maybe a
song that I have always enjoyed means a lot more now because I relate
to it differently now. Music can completely change my mood, take me
back in time and enrich my life.”

I especially like Kelly’s post, 5 Musical Moments That Make Me Feel Old.  I have to say that I can relate to every one of those moments - especially #1 and #2.  I sometimes listen to the classic rock stations and cringe when I hear songs from the late 80’s or 90’s being labeled as “classic”.  As I said in my comment on Kelly’s post, I feel old when I talk about having albums on tapes and my friend’s daughters ask me, “What are tapes, Auntie?”
