Many music blogs talk about the latest happenings going on in the music world – which is fine – but sometimes you just want to read something different. Today I came across What Does This Song Mean To Me, a blog that talks about music from a personal perspective.
Here’s what Kelly, the blogger behind What Does This Song Means To Me says about music:
“What I find interesting is how a song’s meaning can evolve as you grow
older. Life experiences can shape how you listen to a song. Maybe a
song that I have always enjoyed means a lot more now because I relate
to it differently now. Music can completely change my mood, take me
back in time and enrich my life.”
I especially like Kelly’s post, 5 Musical Moments That Make Me Feel Old. I have to say that I can relate to every one of those moments – especially #1 and #2. I sometimes listen to the classic rock stations and cringe when I hear songs from the late 80’s or 90’s being labeled as “classic”. As I said in my comment on Kelly’s post, I feel old when I talk about having albums on tapes and my friend’s daughters ask me, “What are tapes, Auntie?”
